CAPS United’s Malawi import, Uchizi Vunga, said the Green Machine offers him an ideal environment to flourish.
The midfielder, who joined in the midseason transfer window from Malawi side Silver Strikers, is showing a lot of promise.
He scored his first goal in his first start in a 4-2 win over Highlanders at Rufaro last Sunday.
Vunga had made three substitute appearances against Manica Diamonds, FC Hunters and TelOne prior to Sunday’s blinder.
“That love from the fans has really shocked me,” said Vunga.
“You know it’s not easy to get this kind of love from fans at a team where you are probably the newest face. “But all credit should go to the team, right from the board, the technical department as well as my teammates because football is not an individual sport.
“Without supportive teammates, you will be out there wandering like a zombie so I want to credit everything I am doing to my teammates.”
He added:
“The goal that I scored against Highlanders can only help me settle even better.
“One thing that I want to say is that the environment at CAPS United is ideal for me to thrive and do more.
“The system really suits my type of play. Coach Chiragwi wants us to pass the ball and to be fluid.
“At first I wasn’t well up but I kept on working hard to fit in. I am beginning to gel and I think I can give the team more as the games come.”
They will face Simba Bhora in the Chibuku Super Cup first round.
The Chibuku Super Cup has eluded them since its re-introduction in 2013 but they believe they can win it this year.
They have their eyes on the ZIFA Munhumutapa Challenge Cup whose winner takes the ticket to represent the country in the CAF Confederation Cup next year.
