In-form Msendami generates interest from Arabian clubs

RED-HOT Botswana-based ex-Highlanders winger Daniel Msendami has said he is not hard pressed to leave Jwaneng Galaxy to join another foreign club amid revelations that some South African, Tanzanian and Arabian clubs have developed a soft spot for his services.

The 23-year-old ginger haired star has been in fine form for Botswana champions Jwaneng Galaxy with usually impeccable sources revealing that South Africa’s Sekhukhune United and Stellenbosch have made inquiries over his availability.

Simba SC of Tanzania have also reportedly joined the bandwagon of seeking to land Msendami’s signature. The Arabian clubs that are said to be also eyeing the services of the Zimbabwean were not named.

Msendami said while he was content with the environment at Jwaneng Galaxy, he would only make a move if a right offer was tabled.

“I am in a good space with my team. I am happy here but of course if the right offer comes, I will take it. I will just allow destiny to determine itself,” said Msendami.

He has been enjoying his game at the Botswana side where he boasts of six league goals.

Jwaneng Galaxy, who also provide home to ex-Highlanders vice-captain Nqobizitha Masuku, are currently involved in a Confederation of African Football (Caf) Champions League campaign.

They are in Group B together with Ivorians Asec Mimosas, Wydad Casablanca of Morocco and Simba SC.

It is an inter-club competition that saw Msendami grab the all-important goal for Jwaneng Galaxy eliminate highly fancied South African football giants Orlando Prlando Pirates.

If Msendami is to leave Jwaneng Galaxy during the January transfer window, the club that will land his signature should be prepared to break the bank as the player has managed to carve a name in Botswana and he has continued to make headlines in Zimbabwe’s western neighbouring country.

Msendami graduated from the Highlanders juniors, popularly known as Bosso90, in 2019 but did not make much impact compared to some of the players who got elevation to the senior team simultaneously with him.

Andrew Mbeba has since established himself as the team’s mainstay in the centre-back role, where he has formed a steely partnership with ex-Simba SC defender Peter Muduhwa.

In Botswana, Msendami and Masuku have reconnected with his former coach Mandla Mpofu who is now in charge of Sua Flamingoes in the same league.
