THE 115th edition of the Zimbabwe Agricultural Show, running from August 25 to 30, will have a new exciting event — the ZAS Humanity Golf Day — that will tee off at Royal Harare Golf Club on August 21 .
The golf tournament seeks to strengthen networks among agriculture stakeholders while promoting humanitarian values within the sector.
Speaking at a Press briefing in Harare, ZAS chief executive officer Mr Rufaro Alfred Gunundu said the golf day would be more than a sporting event.
“The Humanity Golf Day is not just about the game; it’s a platform for unity, dialogue and shared vision,” said Mr Gunundu.
“It brings together farmers, agribusiness leaders, development partners, policymakers and investors to appreciate the human dimension of agriculture.”
He said participants stood a chance to win livestock and other exciting giveaways, making the event not only competitive, but also rewarding.
These prizes, Mr Gunundu noted, reflect ZAS’s commitment to aligning recreational events with agricultural relevance.
“In the spirit of celebrating 130 years of agricultural excellence, we want this edition to have a meaningful impact,” he said.
“Winners will walk away with livestock, inputs and practical tools that promote farming sustainability.”
The golf day will kick-start a robust programme that includes the Annual National Agribusiness Conference, Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Conference, Zimbabwe Agricultural Media Awards and the Research for Agricultural Excellence and Technology Indaba.
Mr Gunundu confirmed that 304 exhibitors have already registered, with expectations to reach 580 across 89 000 square metres of exhibition space.
“This year’s theme, ‘Building Bridges: Connecting Agriculture, Industry and Communities’, speaks to our mission of inclusive growth,” he said.
“We are celebrating not only longevity, but also transformation and resilience.”
