India based sprinter laments injury

DENZIL Ngavi’s dream of a better start to the 2026 athletics season has hit a knock after sustaining a harmstring injury last week.

He pulled his harmstring in a 100m dash that he trotted to victory in the last 30m.

It comes as setback as the athlete was looking for a great season in a year that he thinks he must end among the country’s top 200 and 400m runners.

The former national junior champion dreams of representing his country some day and now eyes running in Dubai for better competition.

Cricket is big in India and athletics is packed with the rest in terms of appreciation.

Ngavi is studying there and also running in that country with other Zimbabweans.
