India hopes to see sustainable growth and steps forward in the eradication of poverty through networking between Indian and Zimbabwean businesswomen, the Indian ambassador in Harare has said.
“There are limitless opportunities for trade between business women in India and Zimbabwe,” said Indian ambassador Mr Vijay Khanduja during a forum for female entrepreneurs hosted by the embassy in Harare yesterday.
Madhya Pradesh Association of Women Entrepreneurs (MAWE) president and Haylide Chemicals MD Dr Archana Bhatnagar, who is in the country presented her organisation and scope for collaboration to Zimbabwean female entrepreneurs present.
Dr Bhatnagar challenged women to be bold and proactive in order to write their own stories of success and so carry women’s empowerment to the next level.
“Each of us can make a difference to us and when we make a difference for us, we create a difference for the community.”
She said Zimbabwean and Indian female entrepreneurship could realise growth through partnerships in export and import. MAWE assists small businesses to penetrate foreign markets, among other services.
Zimbabwean female business leaders at the forum included CAG Travellers director Dr Afra Nhanhanga, Confederation of Zimbabwe Industries CEO Mrs Sekai Kuvarika, Nyaradzo general manager Mrs Mavis Mataranyika, Women Owned founding trustee Mrs Linda Longwe-Musesengwa and other established and upcoming female entrepreneurs.
Dr Bhatnagar said she hopes to see Zimbabwean female entrepreneurs take advantage of the opportunities at the MAWE at the 2023 Business Beyond Borders international exhibition and conference in Jabalpur this September.
Ambassador Khanduja said Zimbabwe and the province of Madhya Pradesh already enjoy close ties as most of the major oil processors in the country including Pure Oil, Raha and Surface Wilmar have their parent companies from that part of India.
