Indian investors explore opportunities

The Indian Economic Trade Organisation (IETO) is keen to explore business opportunities in Zimbabwe, and yesterday, it held a networking business interaction of 15 companies drawn from various sectors of the economy.

Companies drawn from various sectors including education, healthcare, real estate, millets production, health supplements, employment services, security, distillery and business consulting, attended the           meeting.

Speaker of the National Assembly, who is in India, Advocate Jacob Mudenda, Zimbabwe’s Ambassador to India Mr Majoni Chipare and some parliamentarians from Zimbabwe, attended the interaction.

During the session, Adv Mudenda informed the Indian investors that Zimbabwe has strong legislation for business entries, especially prepared by the Zimbabwe Investment and Development Agency.

“We promote joint development with direct FDI and promoting the sustainable development goals for better work environment,” he said.

“Our key idea is to promote tourism in Zimbabwe and hence promoting the development of five star hotels, inviting Indian investors.”

Adv Mudenda also said Zimbabwe was an agro-based economy and required more of agricultural participation, irrigation methodology, partnering with the educational institutions for more innovative majors from India to Zimbabwe.

He also said Zimbabwe was keen on establishing Millet Park in Zimbabwe and invited a business delegation to Zimbabwe by the IETO.

The Zimbabwe delegation also met Vice President of India, Mr Shri Jagdeep Dhankhar, who later tweeted: “A Parliamentary delegation from Zimbabwe, led by Honourable Speaker Advocate Jacob Francis Nzwidamilimo Mudenda, called on the Vice President and Chairman Rajya Sabha, Shri Jagdeep Dhankhar at Parliament House today.”
