HARARE was left shaken after three infants were found dead in the boot of a Mercedes Benz in Kuwadzana Extension, sparking a police probe into the chilling tragedy.
Anopaishe Muzanago (3), Anenyasha Muzanago (1 year 3 months) and Raymond Matsiwe (4), were discovered on 3 October 2025 after being missing for two days. The children had last been seen on 1 October around 10AM while playing outside, as their mothers did household chores.
National police spokesperson Commissioner Paul Nyathi Police confirmed the shocking find.
“The Zimbabwe Republic Police is conducting investigations in connection with the death of three infants… The victims were found dead in the boot of a Mercedes Benz vehicle on 3rd October 2025 at a car park in Kuwadzana Extension.”
The case has since stirred controversy on social media, with claims that police ignored the families when they reported the missing children. Nyathi hit back, warning against falsehoods:
“The Zimbabwe Republic Police dispels social media claims suggesting that no action was taken by the Police after a missing person report was filed… We urge the public to refrain from spreading falsehoods and instead allow the police to conduct a thorough investigation.”
He further revealed that senior officers only became aware of the case on the night of 2 October after a journalist raised concerns that the local station had been informed earlier.
The mysterious deaths of the three toddlers have shocked the Kuwadzana community, with residents demanding swift answers. Police say investigations are ongoing and more details will be released in due course.
