REBUILDING Bulawayo Chiefs will engage in another tricky Castle Lager Premier Soccer League tie in as many weeks when they engage in an away Sunday fixture against Dynamos at a venue that is yet to be announced.
Amakhosi Amahle, have so far posted two wins, one draw, and a single defeat. Thulani Sibanda’s charges recently, accounted for Hwange and Khama Billiat’s Yadah Stars to take their points tally to seven, three adrift from joint log leaders FC Platinum and Highlanders. Pure Platinum Play and Bosso are yet to taste defeat.
“It all seems to be coming out well. We will continue working hard. We have had some pleasing results but we will not relax because every fixture is important. We are looking forward to continuing from where we left. Everyone seems to be geared up,” said Sibanda.
Before the start of the 2024 season, Bulawayo Chiefs lost several seasoned players that include Obriel Chirinda, Malvin Mkolo, Mthokozisi Msebe, Billy Vheremu and Perfect Chikwende.
It was a development that saw Chiefs managing to reunite with pint sized Joe Nyabinde before they lured ex-Chicken Inn and Black Mambas striker, Leroy Ndlovu, among other talented players.
On Sunday, Sibanda’s charges will be taking on a Dynamos side that had a not so ideal start to their campaign. DeMbare managed to snatch their first triumph of the season when they beat new boys Bikita Minerals. On the other hand, the bruised miners will on Saturday face fellow debutants Arenel Movers at Luveve Stadium. Arenel Movers are smarting from a 3-1 defeat that they suffered at the hands of Caps United.
In what is expected to be an exciting encounter, FC Platinum will take on Caps United at Mandava Stadium on Saturday. On Sunday, Highlanders will host Chegutu Pirates at Barbourfields Stadium, while Chicken Inn travel to Mutare for their game against Manica Diamonds. In four outings, Gamecocks have one win and three draws.
“We need to up our game and get maximum points. Certainly, we have to improve on that as we are still finding our combinations,” said Chicken Inn head coach, Joey Antipas. On the other hand, Manica Diamonds are yet to post a win and are on one point
