OUR MANDATE
The Infrastructure and Development Bank of Zimbabwe (IDBZ) is a development finance institution established by the Government of Zimbabwe in 2005 under the Infrastructure and Development Bank of Zimbabwe Act [Chapter 24:14].
The IDBZ’s core mandate is to support the development, structuring and financing of economic and social infrastructure in various sectors.
The Bank plays both technical and financial partner roles, supporting projects across the entire project cycle, from feasibility and structuring through procurement, investment mobilisation and project delivery.
Beyond infrastructure, the IDBZ provides tailored financing solutions to the productive sectors, targeting the infrastructure value chain, export growth, industrialisation, value addition and beneficiation and green transition.
In addition, the Bank is mandated to facilitate private sector and community participation in development projects, as well as to provide technical assistance around project planning, preparation and appraisal, financing and implementation.

Project Finance
Project finance – Project preparation finance, equity and mezzanine finance, structured debt finance, joint ventures and other partnerships, guarantees and climate finance
Productive Sector Finance
Structured finance solutions, capex and working capital loans, trade finance, order finance, invoice discounting guarantees
Micro Loans (Financial inclusion window)
Business loans, asset finance, solar system finance, group loans, payroll-based loans, education fees loans and personal loans
Treasury Services
The Bank has an active Treasury operation which offers the following services:
Money market investments, financial securities trading, term deposit placements and foreign currency transactions
Banking and Exchange Control
Local currency transaction accounts, foreign currency accounts (FCAs), HomeSaver account (savings for purchase of stands and housing units), electronic funds transfer (RTGS), internet banking, outward and inward telegraphic transfers (TTs), foreign currency purchases and sales foreign currency conversion, foreign investment transaction support and exchange control advisory services
PROJECT ADVISORY SERVICES
Through its non-financial interventions, the IDBZ provides a suite of technical and financial advisory services to ensure the successful delivery of projects: Project preparation and structuring PPP transaction advisory, project capital raising, project procurement support and project monitoring during construction
COLLABORATIVE PARTNERSHIPS
The IDBZ’s overall strategy is to build strategic alliances with public and private project promoters, institutional investors, other DFIs, development agencies and commercial banks to collaborate on the development, financing and delivery of development projects.

The Bank follows a structured framework to screen, onboard, prepare, appraise and structure projects towards bankability, enhancing the chances of reaching financial close and successful delivery.
