Shangani man who had shining bold heads dressed in white garments came out of the camp in a colourful ceremony that was attended by almost every member of the community celebrating a bold stance taken by their community man to volunteer in getting circumcised. As the man walk down to the point of graduation girls came and and spread the mates on which man settled. What could not be hidden was the pain that they went through.
As part of their culture the newly graduands are not allowed to look people in the face.
In this culture the process is a giant social statement that comes with a lot of respect and time when the ministry of health and child welfare are advocating for man to be circumcised in an endeavour to reduce rates of infection and contraction of HIV and AIDS together with some sexual related diseases. In this way man are accepted in the community and a meeting with the ancestors in order to get a name which automatically becomes a middle name. In this way the culture is restored. One important aspect of this ceremony men are given sticks called HOKO in Shangani and it means to be a warrior.
Chilonga, masimavele and Tsvovani are names of chiefs in which the process is ongoing.
