Tshibilika powerhouse Insimbi ZeZhwane is set to make a bold return to the music scene with the release of their new album titled Infundamakhwela, which drops on November 1.

This marks the group’s second project since the tragic passing of founding member Elvis “MaEli” Mathe and Thembinkosi “Maviri” Mpofu, who died in a road accident in 2023. Despite the loss, the band has remained resilient, continuing to carry the torch of Tshibilika music.

The seven-track album, produced and composed by Insimbi ZeZhwane at TM Records, features vocals from Ergan “Magic Fingers” Nzima, with Nkosikhona Ngwabi handling the mixing and mastering. Instrumentation was done by Nzima, Meluleki “Brema” Moyo, Praylord “Bhinkie Bhinkie” Mkhonto, and Mafiyosi Ndlovu.

Tracks on the album include Folosi, Umthobanhliziyo, Ingezamanxeba, Inkemba, Ulibofuzo, Umambule, and the title track Infundamakhwela. Each song is expected to blend the traditional rhythmic flair that defines Tshibilika with a fresh, modern touch.

Speaking ahead of the release, frontman Brema Moyo said the new project is a continuation of the band’s legacy and a tribute to the late MaEli and Maviri.
“This album is special to us. It represents growth, healing, and the continuation of our brothers’ vision. We poured our hearts into Infundamakhwela, and we can’t wait for our fans to hear it,” said Brema.

To celebrate the release, Insimbi ZeZhwane will launch the album with a live performance at Newtown Music Factory (formerly Baseline) in Johannesburg, South Africa, where fans can expect an explosive showcase of new material and timeless classics.
