INSURANCE Council of Zimbabwe (ICZ) is conducting a two-day train the trainer event for business development officers on risk mitigation for the Ministry of Women Affairs, Community, Small and Medium Enterprises Development provincial heads in Bulawayo.

The ICZ is targeting to disseminate information about the importance of insurance to small businesses. Participants from Matabeleland and Masvingo are attending, with ICZ saying it is targeting to train business development officers from all the ten provinces.

ICZ marketing officer Ms Ringisai Batira said the training was necessitated by the discovery that SMEs are not insuing their businesses because of the lack of information.

She said many SMEs tend to fail in their business as they don’t have anywhere to start from after risks happened.
