TWO intruders broke into a house in Bulawayo where they allegedly attacked the owner and locked inside his bedroom before stealing property worth thousands of dollars.
The home owner was snoozing peacefully in the early hours of August 27, when a sound startled him
He opened his eyes to see the improbable and heart-stopping sight of two men standing inside his bedroom.
The homeowner was still rubbing his eyes in disbelief when the intruders sprang into action.
One of them throttled him while the other got the keys to the house
Assistant Inspector Thandekile Ndlovu, the deputy police spokesperson for Bulawayo, said the complainant had retired to bed at around 9pm on August 26 with everything intact.
“One of the accused persons manhandled him by the throat, took away his Huawei Mate 20 Pro cellphone and house keys and locked him inside his bedroom,” said Asst Insp Ndlovu.
The suspects ransacked the house and stole household property.
A 5kVA inverter, two 48-volt solar batteries, a Hisense 55-inch smart television, a white duvet blanket, a 10 000mAh Oraimo power bank, Z-Book HP laptop, laptop charger, four-way electric adaptor, earphones, laptop repair kits and a green wheelbarrow where among the items the suspects nicked.
The two suspects then fled from the house.
A police report was made and investigations are underway.
Asst Insp Ndlovu appealed to members of the public who may have information that could assist in identifying and arresting the suspects to come forward.
