INTWASA Arts in conjunction with Plan International have come up with a programme titled Community Forum Theatre meant to educate children about child abuse. Five centres located in Old Pumula, Mzilikazi, Makokoba, Robert Sinyoka and Methodist Village will host 20 trainees each.
The Community Forum Theatre is aimed at giving youths a voice to air their grievances and feelings about issues affecting their day-to-day lives.
The initiative was also meant to produce sufficient and applicable community-based solutions for the challenges affecting the youths.
A case study in Pumula showed that participants came back with issues to do with child and drug abuse. – The Chronicle.
