THE first edition of the Institute of Directors Zimbabwe Chairman’s Golf Series is set to tee off, at Leopard Rock Hotel, on October 1.

The tournament will be the first in a series which will be held in different provinces before the end of the year.

The Chairman’s Golf Tournament 2021 edition will have a different format.

After the tourney in Vumba, the players will move to Bulawayo for the second series on October 8.

They will then return to Chapman for the Harare series on October 22.

Victoria Falls is scheduled to host the last event on November 5.

IoDZ chairman, Mike Juru, said they were looking forward to a successful series.

“Our aim is to have four tournaments, in different provinces, for a change,’’ he said.

“Directors operate across the country, and are not confined to a single place, as such the plan is to reach out to them.

“We used to have a single tournament in Harare but we realised, as a national organisation, we needed to reach out to all our members, in other locations.

“The tournament also has the charity side, as some proceeds from the event, will be donated to local charitable organisation.

“The idea is to bring different directors, from across the country, together so that they have open discussions, away from work environments, and their hectic schedules.

“Sport plays a critical role, both mentally and physically, in terms of health aspects.’’ The format will be a four-ball-better ball.
