Israel has been launching deadly airstrikes on the Gaza Strip since Friday, killing at least 25 Palestinians and injuring dozens of others. This is while Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has vowed to continue the attacks on the besieged Gaza “as long as necessary”.
Mehmanparast cautioned that any developments that aim to undermine the resistance movement in the region, including in Syria, will only benefit the Israeli regime, once again reiterating Iran’s full support for resolving the Syrian crisis through reforms and diplomatic channels.
Syria has been experiencing unrest since mid-March and many people, including security forces, have lost their lives in the violence.
The West and some factions of the Syrian opposition have accused the Syrian government of killing the protesters. Damascus, however, blames “outlaws, saboteurs and armed terrorist groups’’ for the unrest, insisting that the violence is being orchestrated from abroad.
Mehmanparast also praised the move by the Egyptian parliament to take a stand against the Israeli regime and maintained that Egypt made a rational decision by recalling its ambassador from Israel.
On Monday, the lower house of the Egyptian parliament approved a statement declaring that Israel is the number one enemy of Egypt, calling for the expulsion of the ambassador and a halt to Egypt’s gas exports to Israel. — Presstv.
