IRAN has reaffirmed its solidarity with the people of Zimbabwe ahead of the country’s 41st independence celebration on Sunday and stalwartly condemned the inexcusable United States and European Union stance of the illegal sanctions against the country and by extension to the Sadc region.

The Iranian Ambassador to Zimbabwe Mr Abbas Navazani said his country was confident that President Mnangagwa’s administration would realise its vision to achieve a middle class economy status by 2030.

Ambassador Navazani made the remarks in his congratulatory message to Zimbabwe ahead of the 41st Anniversary, being celebrated under the theme: “Zim@41 Together, growing the economy for a prosperous resilient and inclusive society”.

“We wish Zimbabwe well and ensuring that it realises its vision to achieve a middle class economy status by 2030,” he said.

“Iran wishes to reaffirm its solidarity with the people of Zimbabwe. This is truly a very progressive and resilient nation. The future can only be brighter especially under the leadership of a very progressive President and his entire administration.”

Ever since President Mnangagwa came to the helm of the Second Republic in November 2017, he committed himself to the quintessence of unity as key to the prosperity of Zimbabwe for the benefit of all citizens.
