Ireland Women go 2-0 up

Ireland Women beat their Zimbabwe counterparts, the Lady Chevrons by 42 runs in their second T20 International at Harare Sports Club yesterday to take a 2-0 lead in the five-match series. The Lady Chevrons won the toss and elected to bowl. However, the tourists were ruthless and made 94 for the opening wicket with opener and wicketkeeper Amy Hunter finishing unbeaten on 77 off 57 balls. She hit six fours and two sixes while fellow opener Gaby Lewis fell for 44 off 43 balls and also hit six fours. Precious Marange was the pick of the Lady Chevrons bowlers with one wicket for 26 off her four overs. In reply, the Lady Chevrons could only make 130/8 in their 20 overs with opener Kelis Ndhlovu making 56 from 41 balls. She hit four fours and two sixes. Pellagia Mujaji had the second high-est contribution with a run-a-ball 31 while captain and opener Mary-Anne Musonda scored 17 from as many balls.
