THERE is a joke that has been circulating suggesting that Dorcas Moyo has a special agreement with bus operators on the Harare-Mutare routes.

The joke claims these crews play her music on repeat for the bulk of the journey, causing many passengers to sing along to her songs.

Some even claimed she had secured a “tender” for this arrangement, as her music seemed ubiquitous among long-bus drivers from Mutare.

Whenever we bring up this topic with her, she simply laughs it off, acknowledging it as fiction.

However, the truth is that her popularity has led many to play her music repeatedly.

It’s hard not to appreciate her talent, given how gifted she is.

Dorcas has amassed many prestigious awards.

Last weekend, she attracted a big crowd for the launch of her 10th album, “Mugeri Tsvatu”.

She was supported by Alick Macheso, Suluman Chimbetu, Leonard Zhakata, Fungisai Zvakavapano, “Ashton” Nyahora, and many others.

Her ability to host such prominent musicians demonstrates that she is serious about her craft while also enjoying what she does.

She conveyed a powerful message that she is no longer just the ordinary Dorcas Moyo known for performing at church conferences and crusades.

The diva has matured significantly, as evidenced by the demand for her music.

The fact that she can now hold a big album launch with a star-studded line-up is a testament to her passion for her work.

She has proven her doubters wrong, demonstrating that she truly enjoys her job.

Dorcas is living her dream.

She simply loves what she does, and that’s all we can say for now.

Based on the turnout and enthusiasm, she has achieved remarkable success beyond expectations.

“It can only be God’s grace that fans enjoy my music. Some used to say I was too loud or noisy, but it is the same voice that continues to touch the hearts of millions,” she said.

After being bullied on social media to become a household name, Dorcas is the epitome of hard work, resilience and focus.

“We are singing for the people, and it makes us happy when they follow us religiously.

“As a gifted composer, we are singing songs with substance, and no one will ever stop us from doing what we enjoy the most,” she said.

Now that she has set the bar sky high, many are left wondering where she will launch her next album.

The venue where she unveiled her latest album was too small, and now there is anticipation that she will launch it either at Sakubva Stadium or another large venue, considering the demand for her music.

On that note, showbiz watchers are now convinced that she could be the next queen of gospel, judging by the demand for her music.

She is on top of the world, and many would not be wrong to give her the title of the new gospel queen.

Dorcas has assembled one of the star-studded bands that can rival any band from the secular world.

Her choreography has vastly improved over the years, showing that she treats the stage as a CEO’s office where serious business is done.

She takes everything seriously, from wardrobe choices and marketing to fan engagement.

For someone who has managed to bring together other household names, like her senior Amai Charamba in Mutare, this is no small feat.

She has proven that she is at the pinnacle of her career, doing what she enjoys the most.

Now that she has embraced her new title as the “queen” of Zim gospel, she remains grounded.

“I am still the Dorcas Moyo that you knew. The only difference now is that we keep working hard and reinventing the wheel.

“We don’t want to suffer stagnation; we want to evolve, and that has always been our mission. I will only stop when I am gone, but as long as I am still alive, I will not stop singing for the Lord,” she said.

“For some of us, this is a special calling, and we can’t run away from that fact because the Almighty is leading us.

“We are not in this by default; the Lord is using me as one of His vessels, and I am proud to be following my passion.”

After a 20-year journey of sorrow, sadness and sympathy, she has now assumed a new title as the queen of Zim gospel.

The facts are there to prove her worth, as she has done everything to cement her title.
