Is Liquideep making a comeback?

Do you remember Liquideep, the South African music duo behind hits like Fairytale, BBM, Welcome Aboard, Alone and Something About You?

Fans who grew up on their music have often asked where they went, and it now seems the duo is preparing a return.
Liquideep consists of Ziyon and Ryzor. They released their debut album, Oscillations, in 2009, which quickly resonated on the streets of Mzansi. That success was followed by Fabrics of the Heart in 2010 and Welcome Aboard in 2013. Their music blended emotion with rhythm, creating tracks that were both radio-friendly and club-ready.

Over time, their songs became staples of the South African music scene, with fans connecting to the melodies and lyrics in a way that few acts could match.

The duo received several awards and nominations throughout their career.
After several years of success, the duo largely disappeared from the public eye. Fans speculated about their absence while Ziyon pursued a solo career. Despite being less visible, their songs continued to enjoy steady streams and radio play, keeping the duo’s legacy alive in the hearts of fans.

This week, Liquideep reappeared online in a way that suggested a full comeback.
On TikTok, they posted a video showing a playful conversation between themselves. The caption read: “We missed you too.”

In the clip, Ziyon jokingly tells Ryzor, “Hey man, they say that we’re liquidated, bra. We got liquidated.”
Ryzor laughs, and the two joke about being “rehydrated,” as Ziyon hands Ryzor a glass of water and they both take a sip.

The clip ends with a sense of anticipation, signalling that the duo may be ready to return to making music together.
