Looking at the unseen
JOHN 19:30
When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost.
When Jesus cried out: “It is finished”, the only thing any person can do is point to you the time it was finished.
It rests within your personal faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ at Calvary.
The work was finished at Calvary.
We only look to that place.
By faith, we draw benefits from the finished work of Calvary.
The whole plan of salvation, all that could be done for mankind by God was finished when Christ said those words.
God’s plan was completed. We just have to have faith to receive what He has finished for us.
The price of your salvation was paid for more than 2000 years ago when Jesus died for you at Calvary.
The plan of redemption was finished when Jesus said at the cross: “It is finished.”
The whole plan of man’s redemption was finished, and every blessing that he needed in life’s journey was completed at the cross, for there: “He was wounded for our transgressions, bruised for our iniquity, the chastisement of our peace was upon Him; with His stripes we were healed.”
When Jesus said: “It is finished”, what is finished? The whole plan of salvation, everything was finished, all the promises that He made, the payment of it was deposited at Calvary.
If you were on the market being sold as a slave, the payment of the price by Jesus took you off the market.
You are no longer a slave to sin. Sin shall not have dominion over you.
All the shackles of slavery were broken. You are taken off the slave market, and all that is yours has been redeemed.
The effect of what He did on Calvary is that if Jesus was standing here and you asked Him to heal you or for any blessing, is that He would tell you that He cannot heal you or give you a blessing because He has already done that.
He would tell you that the price of your healing was paid for.
The price of your blessings was paid for.
All you need to do is to recognise that and proceed to appropriate the blessings that He put at your disposal by the paying of His Blood.
In 1 Peter 2:24, the Bible puts your healing as past tense:
Who his own self bares our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.
By His stripes we were, not shall be, healed.
If I went to car dealership and paid for your car, you go and get it. You are free to immediately cease to be a pedestrian.
If you decide to dilly-dally and postpone the day of taking its delivery, the fault is yours if you remain a pedestrian.
If you do not collect it, I cannot pay for it for the second time. If you do not collect your blessings, Jesus cannot die for you for the second time.
When He said: “It is finished”, He meant your sins were finished, your healing was finished, your health was finished, your family was finished, your finances were finished. Every blessing was redeemed for you.
It is a finished work.
Healing, salvation, everything is a finished work.
The only thing needed is our personal faith in that finished work.
By that faith in the finished work, we draw the benefits and dividends from His death at Calvary.
He was wounded for our forgiveness, peace and healing.
There is no healing power in any man.
The healing power is in what Jesus did and your faith in His finished work at Calvary.
Your faith comes by hearing the Word of God and once it is revealed to you that the price was paid, you go and collect your blessings.
When a big man has paid for your car at the dealership and tells you to go and see Victor, the car dealer, to collect your car, you can borrow bus fare to go to the place for you know that when you get there, you will never be a pedestrian again.
The car dealer will not ask you for payment for the car.
It is already paid for.
You just drive it away.
That cannot be compared to what happened at Calvary.
Jesus paid the price of your blessings.
Just borrow a little faith, go to Calvary, see the Holy Ghost and take delivery of the car of your blessings!
It was paid for.
It is finished!
