It’s a mixed bag of entertainment this weekend!

church-organised function to be held at the Christ Embassy Church in Belvedere tomorrow.
The move is meant to show the nation that people are the same despite their different faiths and beliefs.

Organised by Christ Embassy Zimbabwe, the concert, dubbed “Reach Out Zimbabwe 2011” will also see various artistes like Albert Nyathi, Ngoni Kambarami, Sani Makhalima, Leonard Mapfumo and Taurai Mandebvu performing.

“We have invited these artistes to perform at this year’s concert as we are trying to minister to those artistes who have not yet received Jesus Christ as their Saviour,” Judith Gurura of Christ Embassy said.

Meanwhile, another gospel gig will be taking place in the Harare Gardens tomorrow pitting some of the country’s talented musicians Blessing Shumba, Sabastian Magacha, Bethan Pasinawako and Olinda Marowa.

Dubbed “Serving With Courage Fundraising Show” the gig is organised by the Glen Norah Methodist Church in Zimbabwe.
The noble gesture is aimed at raising funds to be channeled towards roofing the church.

“We chose to have Blessing Shumba because as you know he is the man of the moment and his fans are keen on his act. Sabastian on the other hand, is good when it comes to live performances and naturally we decided to partner him up with Shumba, Bethan and Olinda who are on top of their game,” project co-ordinator, Percy Ganyiwa, said.

Elsewhere, Dzivarasekwa will be playing host to a family show pitting gospel, sungura, urban grooves, reggae/ragga and dance genres.
The “DZ Festival” will be held tomorrow at Dzivarasekwa Stadium with the likes of Leonard Zhakata, Progress Chipfumo, Dino Mudondo, Jah Prayzer, Vabati Vajehovha and Mabasa Avatumwa expected to headline the event. Other artistes expected to perform at the event include R&K African Sounds, Tedius Matsito, Freeman of “Joina City” fame and King Kodza.

Dance Crazy Boys, Banyana Bafana, New Generation and Millenium Queens will showcase their dancing skills.
“The idea is to bring together families in this community and other areas, which is not usually done here in Dzivarasekwa,” show organiser, Didi Katanda said.
