IT’S GOOD TO SEE SHERYL SMILING AGAIN
AFTER a year in which her name made headlines in tabloids for all the wrong reasons, as her 18-year marriage with former footballer Edward Sadomba staggered towards a sensational collapse, Sheryl Sadomba appears to be in a very good space right now.
She has just turned 40.
At the weekend, she celebrated this milestone with her friends at her Harare home.
It’s good to see Sherylnn finally smiling and enjoying herself after the challenges she faced last year when most of her pictures were taken at the courts of law.
As she celebrated her 40th birthday she talks about being dragged to dungeons and being terrorised by demons she never knew existed.
However, in all darkness, she said God was walking with her.
Maybe, as they say, life really begins at 40.
It’s in sharp contrast to the chaos that was dominating her life for the better part of last year.
In April last year, H-Metro exclusively reported that the celebrity couple’s marriage was on the verge of collapse.
This was after Sherlynn approached the Harare Civil Court seeking a protection order against Edward despite the two still staying under one roof.
It emerged that although they were sharing the same house, the couple was sleeping in different wings of their house.
The two’s marriage was being tested by a number of challenges and they had managed to keep it under wraps until Sherlynn approached the Harare Civil Court, which blew everything into the open.
Sherly was accusing Sadomba of being “abusive towards her.”
It appears she hasn’t forgotten that rough ride and, in a message she posted to celebrate her 40th birthday, she hit out at mini devils who slandered her.
She said she had been dragged to dungeons and terrorised by demons which her fragile self never imagined existed but in all of it God made her a conqueror.
The message is very clear that she fought the demons which were haunting her and, with God’s help, she managed to conquer them.
We always take for granted the mental issues which come with the kind of challenges which Sherlynn was facing.
The impact of these challenges on mental health is huge and Sherlyn’s message shows us that she suffered immensely when she was in and out of courts.
We can only imagine the impact that all this had on her children.
As a prosecutor, and the wife of a former football star, Sherlyn knows that she will always walk under the spotlight. There will always be public interest in whatever she does and the media, which covers those issues, are not doing it because they hate her or to hurt her.
The media is simply fulfilling public interest.
This is the same media which was covering all the beautiful stories when her marriage was a model partnership.
We are happy that she is smiling again and hopefully, now that she has embarked her adventure into the 40s, it will be a beautiful and happy one, too.
