RECENTLY-CROWNED Mister Glamour Zimbabwe, Trayvon Madya, is convinced that his time to shine has come.

Madya, who is also an aspiring musician, was one of the 10 finalists at this year’s Mister Glamour Zimbabwe.

In an interview with Zimpapers Entertainment Hub, Trayvon said behind the glamour of modeling, he is a musician at heart.

“Music has always been my passion, my escape, my everything. Now, with this platform, I can share my art with the world.

“My days are filled with photo shoots, runway walks and interviews but my nights belong to music.

“I write songs, practice guitar and perfect my craft. The spotlight may shine bright on my modeling career but my true love is music.

“This journey hasn’t been easy but it’s worth it. Every time I step onto the stage or in front of the camera, I feel alive.

“I’m grateful for this opportunity to pursue my dreams and inspire others to do the same.”

Trayvon said he will be using this platform to advocate against animal cruelty.

“Growing up, I’ve always been passionate about animal welfare.

“Seeing dogs and other creatures mistreated and neglected always broke my heart.

“I remember living with people who viewed animals as nothing more than objects, not living beings deserving of love and respect.

“Now, as Mister Glamour, I wanted to use my voice to advocate for those who couldn’t speak for themselves.

“Animal cruelty and neglect were issues close to my heart and I was determined to raise awareness and make a positive impact.”

He added:

“But my mission doesn’t stop there. I also wanted to inspire others who struggled with self-doubt and low confidence.

“I’d been there myself, wondering if I was good enough or if my dreams were achievable. But now, I stand tall, a symbol of hope and perseverance.

“My message was simple: believe in yourself and, when the time is right, your moment will come. I hoped to be a beacon of inspiration, showing others that with faith, determination and hard work, they too could achieve their goals.”

Robert Chipazaure, the director of Miss and Mister Glamour Zimbabwe, said the mission is to empower young men and women in the modeling industry with leadership skills and community engagements.

He said the aim is to create people who are ambitious and who are ready to take responsibility and change the world around them.

“The inspiration behind the pageant lies in empowering young men and women in the modeling industry.

“The goals include fostering leadership skills, enhancing community engagement, and creating a platform for participants to showcase their potential while positively impacting society.

“This year’s pageant adopted a virtual format, marking a shift from traditional events.

“The theme emphasised adaptability and innovation in the face of challenges, showcasing how the pageant can evolve with changing times.

“The pageant promotes positive body image and self-esteem by encouraging contestants to embrace their unique qualities.

“Workshops and mentorship programs are organised to foster confidence, focusing on inner beauty and personal growth,” he said.

Winners of the pageant gain opportunities to represent Zimbabwe on international platforms, such as Mister Glam International and Miss Africa International.

They can use their titles to advocate for social causes, engage in community service and inspire others in their journeys.

“The pageant balances physical aspects with intellectual and personal development by incorporating workshops that focus on public speaking, leadership and personal branding, ensuring contestants grow in all dimensions.

“Looking ahead, Mister and Miss Glamour Zimbabwe aims to host international pageants in Zimbabwe, which will not only enhance the local modeling scene but also promote tourism.

“The organisation is committed to overcoming challenges and striving for continuous improvement over the coming years,” he said.

Mister and Miss Glamour is a national beauty pageant established in 2020.
