It’s time to work, declares Bosso coach

ON his arrival back in the country yesterday from Portugal, Highlanders Football Club coach Baltemar Brito could not be drawn into revealing his goal for the season but expressed his eagerness to get back to work starting tomorrow.

Brito landed at the Joshua Mqabuko Nkomo International Airport in the company of his assistant coach Antonio Torres.

The welcome party included second assistant coach Joel Luphahla, who was reported in some sections of the media to have joined Northern Region Division One side Mwos but Highlanders have maintained that the former Zimbabwe Warriors winger is still part of their plans.

Luphahla personally drove Brito and Torres, an indication that he is still very much part of the plans at Highlanders despite all the speculation about his exit. Also part of the team that welcomed Brito was executive committee chairman Johnfat Sibanda, his deputy Sifiso Siziba, treasurer Busani Mthombeni and committee member Mgcini Mafu. Brito who was visibly excited on his return said he is ready to work.

**Bosso coaches arrives and receives a warm welcome**

“We just want to start. When we do, then we will start thinking of what we can achieve this season. We want to do better than last season. Me, the staff, players, and the board will do our best to make sure we have a good season,” said Brito.

The Brazil born Portuguese national gave indications that he was aware of every transfer activity Highlanders had embarked on in his absence and the club is not done in player movement in terms of those coming in and those leaving.

“I was in constant touch with the people here. They kept me in updated with the situation here. In the next few weeks we will be in touch with the executive on the additions and subtractions to the squad.”

So far, Highlanders have promoted central midfielder Gillian Nyathi to the first team from Bosso90 while 21-year-old FC Talen Vision tear-away winger Calvin “Kung-Fu Panda” Chigonero will be joining them on a season loan. Defender Andrew Tandi has extended his stay at the club.
