Iyasa partner SOS in musical production

production called From Zero to Hero.
The show will be held on Sunday at Bulawayo Theatre.
The brains behind the musical production at SOS, Ishe John Gara, said the first show was performed before a full house at the school hall at the end of the school term recently.
“The musical is about an underprivileged boy who rises above his situation, becomes a great achiever and makes something out of his life. The main message we are trying to put across is that society cannot rule out less privileged people as they have great capabilities,” said Gara.
The talent showcased by the pupils from SOS was overwhelming as they could sing, dance and do the stage work properly and the inclusion of seasoned artistes from Iyasa will take the production to a new level.
What separates the musical from a mere school recital is the professionalism brought in by Iyasa.
“We decided to partake in the production because it is mainly for kids. We decided to assist SOS by pitching in hence giving the production more strength,” said the director of Iyasa, Nkululeko Dube.
Bearing in mind that it is the festive season, the musical could not have been showcased during a better time.
“This is the time when families come together , a time for giving, so the musical is a way of bringing not only families but the rest of the city together as they come to watch the musical and share the wonderful experience,” added Dube.
Dube and Gara added that they were carrying out the project with the community at heart.
“If you watch the musical you would be surprised by the amount of talent we are sitting on and we are hoping that other schools will be influenced to participate in projects like these as well,” said Gara.
