Some of the 10 lucky people that won tickets to go and attend United States rapper J. Cole’s show in South Africa have no idea about the musician and his works.

J. Cole (real name Jermaine Lamarr Cole) will perform in Johannesburg this weekend and Castle Lite has given out tickets to local lucky winners that will attend the show.

The concert, which is being hosted by Castle Lite in association with Channel O, will be at the Ticketpro Dome.

The lucky fans who were drawn from all provinces were announced last Friday at Bootleggers Bottle Store, in Newlands.

The 10, who are Richard Batisai, Ruziva David, Smart Dzvairo, Gerald Makoni, Dexter Mukuve, G. Duckworth, Tinashe Mawokomai, Ntulusi Ncube, Moses Gwata and Isaac Makaza, will leave for Johannesburg this Friday and return on Sunday.

The team will be staying at Sandton Sun Hotel

In an interview, some of the winners said they entered the competition for fun but its not their type of music while others said they did not even know J. Cole, but would go for the trip for fun.

Castle Lite Zimbabwe brand manager Kundayi Mawema said they were happy with how the draw was conducted and many people participated.

“The brand was running an exclusive five week promotion to give consumers an opportunity to win one of 10 VIP experience packages to the biggest concert of the year.

“The 10 winners will be flown down to South Africa for a weekend of Extra Cold fun and refreshment with Castle Lite. Things to look forward to include a day and night out on the town as well as exclusive access to the concert.

“Winners will be hosted in a fully catered VIP suite, with access to the Golden Circle, and the fun doesn’t end there; all winners will then head over to the buzzing streets of Johannesburg for the Official J. Cole After Party,” she said.

Mawema said those without valid passports will not receive the tickets.

“I assume everyone who won has a valid passport, if not we will conduct the draw again then we take the promised 10 winners. It is an extra cold experience not to be missed,” she said.
