Jackie Chan ashamed of arrested son

Jackie Chan was “heartbroken’’ when his son Jaycee Chan was arrested in a drugs raid and says he is ‘’ashamed’’ of the 32-year-old actor.
Jaycee Chan, 32, and his actor friend Kai Ko, 23, were detained by police last Thursday after more than 3.5oz of marijuana was discovered at Jaycee’s home, and the ‘Rush Hour’ actor admits he was ‘’heartbroken’’ by the incident.

He blogged: “Regarding this issue with my son Jaycee, I feel very angry and very shocked. As a public figure, I’m very ashamed. As a father, I’m heartbroken.

“Jaycee and I together express our deep apology to society and the public.’’

Jaycee could be jailed for three years for aiding and abetting other drug users and his famous father – who was named as an anti-drug ambassador by Beijing authorities in 2009 – says they will face the consequences together.

He added: “I hope all young people will learn a lesson from Jaycee and stay far from the harm of drugs.

“I say to Jaycee that you have to accept the consequences when you do something wrong. As your father, I’m going to face the road together with you.’’

Jaycee’s arrest comes as Beijing police are cracking down on drug use but Beijing Municipal Anti-Drug office insists officials are not targeting celebrities as such.
