ZIMDANCEHALL chanter Jah Signal will perform in Johannesburg, South Africa, on December 8 and 9, as he kick-starts a tight festive season schedule.
After the SA shows, the “Sweetie” (Shinga Muroora) hitmaker will hold a series of live performances across Zimbabwe. Jah Signal recently released three songs — “Mwana Wangu”, “Mandishoreyi” and “Chiendai”. The tracks have since been posted on several social media platforms.
“The songs are a special gift to my fans. I want them to enjoy the songs as they wine and dine with their loved ones during the festive season,” Jah Signal said.
Born Nicodemus Mutize, the 28-year-old chanter also announced plans for the release of a new album in January next year.
“The three songs that I mentioned earlier are a Christmas gift. I am going to release an album in January next year and this will be a New Year gift to my fans, who stand by me through thick and thin.”
The musician is currently rehearsing as he plots to give his all during the festive season.
“For musicians, this month is the peak period. I am currently rehearsing as I prepare for the busy schedule that lies ahead of me,” he said.
The year 2023 has been a tough one for the singer.
“I think fans are yet to fully recover from the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic. I had a number of shows that flopped and I attribute this to the effects of the pandemic,” he said.
He, however, is confident that 2024 will be a better year for him and other struggling musicians.
“God is for us all. This year was not our year. I am sure, in 2024, we are going to perform better than we did this year,” the Kuwadzana-born chanter said.
He had a word or two for his fans.
“I am pleading with my fans to behave responsibly during the festive season. I want them to join me when I launch my new album in January next year,” Jah Signal said as a parting shot.
