Zimdancehall musician Jah Signal is set to perform in Bulawayo tonight at a local club, in a last-minute show organised as a build-up to Workers’ Day celebrations.
The free event, arranged on short notice, is expected to draw fans eager to experience the artiste live in an intimate setting.
“Although having accepted the request to perform at the very last minute, and having had little time to prepare, Jah Signal is feeling ready and prepared to show out for his fans and all those in attendance at the Experience After Party,” said Punchline, the musician’s manager.
Organisers say all is in place for the event, which will also align with ongoing anti-drug awareness efforts targeting young people.
“President Emmerson Mnangagwa has stated vigorously that drugs have no place in Zimbabwe, that’s why these movements are happening within universities, schools, and colleges.
“After the college programme at Bulawayo Polytechnic, Jah Signal will come to the Hangout by BAC to meet fans and also give them the same experience about saying no to drugs.
“We got the opportunity to host this event on short notice but because it is an event of national interest, so we decided to take it,” organisers said.
The show is expected to set the tone for Workers’ Day festivities, blending entertainment with a social message aimed at discouraging drug abuse among the youth.
