MANICA Diamonds coach Jairos Tapera has been sent on forced leave following the club’s string of poor results.

Information gleaned by Zimpapers Sports Hub indicate that sending Tapera on forced leave is meant to manage contractual labour agreements.

The ageing coach could later be reassigned elsewhere within the club structures, but nothing to do with directly managing the team.

Club chairman Masimba Chihowa confirmed that Tapera’s assistant Tafadzwa Mashiri will hold fort.

“We have sent Jairos Tapera on forced leave and his assistant Tafadzwa Mashiri is taking over. This has been done so that we take time to introspect and see how best we can turn things around.

“Everyone associated with Manica Diamonds is not happy with the results that this team has been posting and we have reached a stage where something just has to be done to redress the matter,” he said.
