Tim Thorburn, the Jamboree committee chairman, said they were ready to host the annual event that has been running for two decades now.

“For the competition we are expecting 30 to 35 vehicles. On the long wheelbase class we are expecting at least 12 to 15.

“We are expecting about 3 000 people in total for the whole weekend, maybe about 1 200, on the first day and 1 800 on Sunday.

“We have Big Sky, the sponsors of the mud run, that’s the biggest attraction on Sunday.

“The other big attraction is the Toyota Extreme Challenge and only the top 10 competitors can compete in that event on Sunday.

“The mud run is for everyone,” said Thorburn.

Thorburn said some of the participants expected are Alex Hawkins, who is one of the top competitors in the country. “Alex Hawkins is probably one of the top competitors in his class and we also have Mass Kirk. We have a gentleman from South Africa we are expecting,” said Thornburn.
