Revellers across the country, who had been deprived of live shows in January, will be spoilt for choice this weekend as most musicians that had taken a break after a busy festive season are returning to work.
The weekend will kick off with the inaugural Star FM Awards at Zimbali Lifestyle Centre in Greendale tonight. The awards are probably the biggest event of the weekend.
The awards will attract a great number of top musicians, to perform and also to be honoured for their work executed in the previous year.
Also on offer is the play Nzara by the Zimbabwe Theatre Academy at Reps Theatre. The play will kick-off tomorrow at 2pm. Admission is free.
Then Half Bar comes alive with a double delight of percussion and house fusion gods Djembe Monks. Based in Bulawayo, the group will take house music performance to another level with aid of djembe (drums). This evening, they perform along with Amy and the Calamities.
Mushandirapamwe Hotel at Machipisa shopping centre will come alive tomorrow with the sound of Dendera as Sulumani Chimbetu
Magamba Network will host their monthly art, craft and food market this weekend at Moto Republik. They will also have DJs and live music performances to celebrate the market’s fourth anniversary.
Size 4 modelling agency will tommorow host their graduation ceremony at Red Café. The all- day event will include a beauty pageant to crown Mr and Miss Graduations while entertainment will come from various musicians and DJs signed under the agency.
Then there is the Betrayal of Vanjapa at Reps Theatre today and tomorrow at 7pm.

The Zimbabwe College of Music will be holding its fundraising concert for the oncoming tour of Canada today from 5.30 to 8.30 pm. Headlined by students and students’ band the show is promising to be a thriller..
