Jean to launch new album

album called “Africa” tonight.
The album features none other man-of-the moment, Suluman Chimbetu, who brings his “Midas Touch” to Sister Jean’s music by a fine delivery on vocals.
But that is not all for it is not just a fusion of Dendera that finds its way onto the album but rhumba as well.
Those who follow rhumba music closely must be familiar with Real Sounds of Africa Dream Team band member, Valor, who also ropes in his expertise to make the album a must-listen to music lovers.
Add to that the unique touch of suave rapper Dino Mudondo, saxophonist Phillip Svosve and the time-honoured wizardry of the Masters Band – the group that Sister Jean fronts – and you know what to expect – dynamite!
Suluman’s band member popularly known as Nodza Nodza also plays the lead guitar on the album while Sulu’s manager, Knowledge Nkoma produced it.
Recorded at KBN Studios and marketed and distributed by the Zimbabwe Music Corporation, the album opens with the song “Mudiwa Wangu” which is a tribute to lovebirds.
In it, the diva’s seductive voice soars in lilting crescendos in declaring her undying love.
“Chipo Changu” is about the talents and the special people that people are blessed with in life by God.
Saxophonist Svosve is “possessed” on the title track “Africa” about the beauty of the continent and its people and how people should keep the “motherland” pure and chaste as well as guarding it jealously.
If you know how Svosve makes his saxophone talk, whine, hum, roar, bark and bellow, then this and the other songs where Svosve is featured, is just for you.
In “Nherera”, Sister Jean touches the hearts of many when she laments the plight of orphans who go through a lot of suffering following the death of their parents. Mudondo comes in with his own appealing style in the song “Makare”.
“Ndinerudo” as well as the two instrumental versions of the songs “Africa’ and “Nherera” make up the rest of the play-list.
