Jed crowned Novice Zimbabwe champion

ASHLEY Jed was crowned the 2024 Novice Zimbabwe bodybuilding and fitness (senior men) champion at the Zimbabwe College of Music on Saturday.

The body Active Gym hulk got the better of Carlton Phiri of Body Works Gym, who came second.

Ansley was happy with his win and said he is now looking forward to the upcoming tournaments.

“I am happy for this win and I look forward to continue working hard. The Novice will give me an opportunity to contest at the highest level including the Mr Zimbabwe championships.

“I am grateful to Body Active Gym coaches who made me what I am today and I will continue to work hard,” said Jed.

Phiri, who settled for second place, said he is happy with the judgement and will continue to work hard for the upcoming contests.

“I am happy with the second place finish and will continue to work hard and improve. There was a tough competition and coming up as runner-up is a good finish.

“I was not looking at other contestants’ stature but only focused on my mental ability. The contest lived up to its billing and l look forward to do better in my next competitions,’ said Phiri.
