Seasoned Marabi and Jazz musician Jeys Marabini has paid tribute to his drummer, Emmanuel “Jassy Boy” Jasi, describing him as a pillar of his Koze Kulunge Band.

Jasi joined the band in 2022, shortly after the release of Marabini’s Xola album, and has since become an integral part of the group’s journey.

Together, they have taken their music to audiences across the region, notably during the 2023 Harare Meet the People Tour, where they created memorable experiences for fans.

According to Marabini, Jasi brought a wealth of experience to the band even before joining.

He had already established a strong presence in the music industry, working with artists such as Sandra Ndebele, Mzoe7, and several groups in Botswana.

This background, Marabini said, added depth and professionalism to the ensemble.

“Jassy is truly the backbone of the band. His talent goes far beyond just being a drummer. He has an exceptional ear for sound and understands how every instrument connects and blends to create something magical. He is the glue that holds it all together, ensuring every performance is tight, powerful, and unforgettable,” said Marabini.

Beyond his role in the Koze Kulunge Band, Jasi is also building a promising solo career, collaborating with various artists and continuing to showcase his versatility and creativity.
