Peter trained Tyson between 2012 and 2017, with John serving four years of an 11-year jail term for most of that period.
Their stint together included the shock win over Wladimir Klitschko in 2015 which catapulted the Gypsy King to superstardom.
But bitter disputes over finances and the management of Tyson’s career drove a wedge between Peter and John.
And Peter — part of the huge Fury boxing family tree —admitting that he has given pointers to AJ, months ahead of his seismic all-British showdown with Tyson, has sent John into a rage.
Peter wrote on X: “Me & AJ spoke 2 months ago about advice on his skill set, really nice guy.
“After his fight anything he needs from me (would) be a pleasure. He has a great team around him inc Team Usyk.”
Joshua admitted that Peter was “willing to help” with matters of “training and approach”, but did not discuss Tyson specifically.
John responded on Playbook Boxing: “I don’t talk to the man. I’ll never speak to him as long as I live. He knows why.
“If he was to do that (talk to AJ) in any way, shape or form, that would make him the lowest form of human being.
“Even thinking about doing it, that makes him the biggest dog, the biggest untrustworthy dog of all time. If he’s going to start giving phone calls and advice, meeting in secret, giving him secret sessions, he’s a f***ing cockroach.”
When it was put to him that AJ may have reached out to Peter, rather than the other way round, John was no less suspicious.
He continued: “The only advice he could have wanted is on Tyson, isn’t it? There is no smoke without fire.” Looking straight into the camera, John added: “Son, give your head a wobble. Don’t sell your soul to the devil for a fiver.”
Tyson and his dad are not on speaking terms, with John stating earlier this year that their relationship is “completely destroyed”.
John has publicly stated for several years that Tyson should retire and prioritise his health.
Tyson himself responded to the surreal link-up between AJ and his uncle by rubbishing talk of an ongoing partnership.
He said in an Instagram video: “I can categorically say it is untrue because even if Peter Fury hated me, he’s still my family.
“That would mean he would be a Fredo, scorpion, snake, rat, b****** piece of s*** if he did that.” The crossover between Tyson and AJ does not stop with Peter, as the Gypsy King’s ex-trainer Ben Davison has now reunited with Joshua.
Davison was in Tyson’s corner for five fights, including his thrilling split decision draw with Deontay Wilder in 2018.
The move has led to Tyson, who is now coached by SugarHill Steward, branding Davison a “traitor”.
After a nervy period of uncertainty, the long-awaited showdown was finally confirmed last month and will be held at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff on December 11. — Sun.
