Veteran coach, Takaendesa Jongwe, has taken another sabbatical from football after the expiry of his contract with Yadah Stars.
The Miracle Boys have since replaced Jongwe with Thomas Ruzive, who will be assisted by Brenna Msiska.
He told Zimpapers Sports that his decision to end his union with Yadah was inspired by his passion to see youthful coaches taking centre stage in local football.
Jongwe acknowledged that he no longer has the same energy he had in his prime.
He joined Yadah last season when they were rooted at the bottom of the Castle Lager Premiership after the restart, to put an end to a 12-year hiatus.
His return turned out to be exactly what the doctor had ordered as he helped Yadah secure survival on the last day of the season as they beat Dynamos 2-1 at the National Sports Stadium.
Jongwe however, hinted that he would be available for similar assignments.
“I’m taking another break from football after accomplishing my mission with Yadah, which was to survive relegation.
“I did not want anything more, and I decided to stick to what we had agreed on.
“I want to give a chance to upcoming coaches, and I believe I’m no longer able to shout at the boys for the whole season, but I will be available for small tasks,” said Jongwe.
The introduction of Warriors legend Msiska also highlights Magaya’s respect towards yesteryear stars.
Stewart ‘Shutto’ Murisa, who was crowned the league’s Soccer Star of the Year in 1996, is also part of the team’s technical setup.
Brian Mapfumo is another veteran of local football who is making ends meet at the club.
