ZIFA Southern Region League side has described the death of three Highlanders executive members as a blow to the club and the game.
Jordan FC is in mourning following the passing of Highlanders FC executive chairman Kenneth Mhlophe, his deputy Fiso Siziba and board member finance Nkani Khoza.
Jordan described the late executive members as pillars of football development and Highlanders and a friend to the game beyond club rivalries.
“Football in Bulawayo has lost dedicated servants,” Jordan FC said in a statement. “Their commitment to Highlanders FC and to the growth of the sport in our city will not be forgotten. On behalf of the Jordan FC family, we extend our deepest condolences to the Bosso family, Highlanders FC, and all who knew them.”
They distinguished themselves as committed Bosso cadres whose call of duty went beyond expectations.
Tributes have been pouring in from across the Bulawayo football family and Zimbabwe.
Jordan FC said the team stood to gain from the experience and exposure of such leadership in the region.
“We are a young football club still finding its feet in the game, we stood to benefit from their counsel as seniors in the game. As Jordan FC we were keen on a relationship that would have resulted in several exchange programmes,” said the club in a statement.
