JORDAN Sinnot goalkeeper Anxious Mutanda has had a great start with his club in the Zifa Southern Region Division One Soccer League.
Zimpapers Sports Hub, caught up with the goalkeeper and he opened up on their season to date.
Mutanda has been one of the top players for Jordan Sinnot so far, and he has played a huge role which has left the club at 11th position after 18 matches.
“It is not ideally a position one would be so proud to be in but I am pleased that we are showing bravery and the fighting spirit in this league, which is a very tough one,” said Mutanda.
The 23-year-old joined the Filabusi side this season and has played 16 matches and has managed to keep 10 clean sheets in a season which has seen him being one of the best goalkeepers in the league so far.
“I am obviously proud of myself so far, but I believe that I can still do better and improve on my current record.
“We have a unified team which supports each other a lot, that is also why I have been having a successful season in the second tier of Zimbabwean football,” said Mutanda.
The Sizinda bred goalminder also appreciated his former coach Lavert Mavunda for lending a hand in his career development.
“He is a person who engages with players spreading love. I appreciate the advice he always gives me in life and in football, therefore he will always be my favourite coach,” he also said.
Jordan Sinnot played a 1-1 draw away to Casmyn.
