Journalist detained at Chiadzwa

covering a tour of the diamond fields by the civil society.

He was apprehended on his way out of the Marange Resources diamond fields.
The nature of the stone is still unknown, but officials at the mine had, prior to the tour, made it clear that no-one should bring stones or anything metallic into the fields.

Civil society toured the Chiadzwa diamond fields after being granted permission by Government.

Among the NGO representatives were Farai Muguwu, Shamiso Mutisi and Cont Mhlanga.
They said they will issue a statement today.
