Award-winning musician Julian King has shown his appreciation for loyal women in his new song, ‘Chinjira Life’.
Featuring rap sensation Bagga, the song was released in celebration of International Women’s Day, highlighting the importance of recognising the contributions of women in society.
In an interview with The Herald Arts, the United States-based Afro-pop exponent encouraged men to remain committed to the women who loved them during their struggles.
“In my new song, I urge men to appreciate the woman they met at their lowest who stuck by them. Reward her by giving her the best life you can.”
Julian King said he was touched by how some men ill-treat the ladies who gave them a shoulder to cry on when they were down.
He said he is humbled by the appeal of his music back home.
“My music is doing well. We have a lot of support, and we love it.”
Born Julian Kanombirira, the entertainer has recorded several chart-toppers.
A holder of an Accounts Degree from Africa University, Julian King has been pursuing his studies and music career overseas.
As a way of giving back to society, he is paying school fees for ten learners in Seke, Chitungwiza, under his Julian King Foundation.
He is one of several Zimbabwean musicians outside the country who have a strong bond with his kith and kin.
