Junior Netball League bent on promoting girls

A TOTAL of 16 school teams played their first round of the Zimbabwe Netball Association Junior League which started at Emakhandeni Primary School in Bulawayo on Wednesday.
Mpumelelo, Emakhandeni, Mtshane, Inzwananzi, Josiah Chinamano, Nkulumane, Insukamini, Mganwini, Mgoqo, St Bernard’s, Intunta, Manondwane, Inkanyezi, Induba, Mabhukudwane and Mafela are the teams in the league.
The teams will be drawn into four pools of four teams each.

Mpumelelo, Josiah Chinamano, Mgoqo, Inkanyezi were seeded after finishing in the top four in the last campaign which ended in May.
Bulawayo Netball League fixtures secretary Precious Mudenge said their objective was to promote girls. Naph provincial head-in-charge of netball Olga Tshuma said she is happy with the partnership with Zina.

“I’m happy that Zina is giving the girls a platform to develop through sport,” she said.
Zina qualified referees will officiate at the games.

Pool A: Mpumelelo, Emakhandeni, Mtshane, Inzwananzi
Pool B: Josiah Chinamano, Nkulumane, Mganwini,Insukamini
Pool C: Mgoqo,St Bernard’s Intunta, Manondwane
Pool D: Inkanyezi, Induba, Mabhukudwane, Mafela — Chronicle.
