JUST IN: Government defers schools opening

GOVERNMENT has deferred the opening of schools due to the spike in Covid-19 cases and threats posed by downgraded tropical depression Chalane.

Schools initially scheduled to open on Monday January 4 for the First Term of 2021 and closing on March 24.

In a statement on Wednesday afternoon, Primary and Secondary Education Permanent Secretary Mrs Tumisang Thabela said schools will not open but Ordinary and Advanced Level candidates will resume their final year examinations.
