JUST IN: Job Sikhala

Police has arrested MDC-Alliance national vice chairperson, Job Sikhala, who claimed to have been in hiding since end of July.

Sikhala was arrested in Tynwald North, Harare, today.

He is in police custody assisting with investigations.

National police spokesperson, Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi, confirmed the arrest.

He said more details would be provided soon.

MDC Alliance spokesperson Ms Fadzai Mahere confirmed Sikhala’s arrest.

Sikhala was one of the opposition figures that have been in hiding as police sought to question them on the demonstrations that were planned for July 31.

Police are also keen to interview Godfrey Tsenengamu in connection with the same issue.
