Kadewere for Europe

PREMIERSHIP side Harare City have released Zimbabwe youth international striker Tinotenda Kadewere to Swedish top-flight Club, Djurgardens for the remainder of the season.

Kadewere underwent trials last month and he impressed the European outfit who already have another Zimbabwean, Nyasha Mushekwi, on their books.

Mushekwi is also on loan to the Swedish club from South African Premiership giants Mamelodi Sundowns.

Kadewere, who has been featuring for the Young Warriors squad and was part of the Warriors COSAFA Cup side, becomes the second Harare City player to move to Europe after the Sunshine Boys former talisman Silas Songani joined a Danish side last year.

Songani has since extended his stay by another year at Sönderjyske.

Kadewere also follows in the same tracks that have been taken by his Young Warriors teammates Walter Musona, Wisdom Mutasa and Ronald Pfumbidzai who have all recently signed for European clubs.

Harare City club secretary Matthew Marara confirmed yesterday that the Sunshine Boys had agreed terms with the Swedish club after Kadewere who also had a stint at French side Sochaux had done well in Sweden to win a contract.

Marara told the Harare City official Facebook page that the player has been cleared and will be leaving for Europe very soon.

“Tino (Kadewere) has done well for himself during the trials in Sweden and as a club, we have agreed to let him go on loan for the remainder of the season after which considerations will be made for the future.

“We are happy as a club that we are producing some quality players that attract other clubs not only here, but elsewhere too as evidenced by the move.”
