INJURED Zimbabwe international striker Tino Kadewere is eager for a comeback after undergoing knee surgery.
Kadewere’s career has been blighted by recurrent injuries with the latest setback ruling him out of the Warriors’ World Cup qualifiers last month and yesterday’s international friendly against former African champions Algeria in Saudi Arabia.
The veteran striker has vowed to overcome the injury nightmare and return to the battlefield.
He has endured tough moments on the sidelines and injuries are threatening to knock him out of contention for a place at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco next month.
The Warriors and Aris Thessaloniki forward revealed the profound mental and physical struggle he has endured, confessing the persistent injuries have led him to question his journey.
Yet, in an emotional statement, Kadewere affirmed an unbreakable resolve, rooted in faith and family, to fight his way back to the pitch.
The 28-year-old striker expressed deep gratitude for the outpouring of support that has bolstered his spirit during this challenging period.
“A few weeks ago I had surgery on my knee and honestly it was the toughest moments ever.
“I have been struggling a lot with these injuries and sometimes you ask yourself so many questions with no answers,” said Kadewere.
However, he meets this uncertainty with a steadfast philosophy.
“I believe everything happens for a reason and I will never give up. Will keep fighting and make sure one day all this will just be history.”
“I am happy with the progress already and assure all the fans that I will come back strongly,’’ he said.
He believes that his spate of injuries is a difficult phase that will, however, come to pass.
“Everything has a phase, and I tell you this dark chapter will pass through one day and I will manage to play my game without hindrances.
“What is important and grateful is the support from my family and all those who believe in me. They give me the will to keep on believing and zeal to fight hard,’’ added Kadewere.
