Kaitano Tembo, Bartlett in trouble

Sports Reporter

KAITANO Tembo of Richards Bay and Cape Town Spurs’ Shaun Bartlett are under increasing pressure as their teams remain win-less in the South African Premier Soccer League, making them early favourites for relegation.

Tembo took over as Richards Bay coach during the off season and has gone for five matches without a win, suffering three defeats and scrambling two draws to lie second from bottom with two points from a possible 15.

On Wednesday night, Richards Bay needed a late goal to force a 1-1 draw at home to Sekhukhune United.

While Tembo has taken charge of this season’s five games, Richards Bay now hold an unwanted record of 19 league matches without a win. The miserable win-less run stretches back to the previous season.

Bartlett took Cape Town Spurs into the Premiership but has had a rough start to the campaign, losing all five matches to date and the latest being 1-3 against Moroka Swallows on Wednesday night.
