Ugandan comedian Anne Kansiime is expected in the country today alongside South Africa-based Zimbabwean comedian Baba Tencen ahead of their show at Harare International Conference Centre on Saturday. Kansiime will be accompanied by her sidekick Cotilda Inapo who was also part of her debut Harare show last year.During the debut visit, Kansiime’s show was oversubscribed and organisers had to hastily organise a second performance on the following day as 7Arts Theatre failed to accommodate multitudes of the female comedian’s local fans at one go.

That should be the reason why Xtratime Entertainment have this time chosen the gigantic HICC in anticipation of a bigger turnout at the event dubbed “Let`s Laugh Again Ha-ha-ha-Harare”.

Adding Baba Tencen – born Pepukai Zvemhare – to the line-up should make the event memorable since his skits have become popular on social media networks. Kansiime will arrive in the afternoon and Baba Tencen will jet in later this evening. Tonderai Mwaita from Xtratime Entertainment said they are bringing back Kansiime following requests from comedy fans.

“We have continuously been receiving inquiries on when she was due to return from those who missed last year’s show as well as those who attended,” he said.

“We also found this as an opportunity to host Baba Tencen for the first time in the country. Many people follow him on social media, but he has never performed on a local stage. We are happy to host him for the first time in the country.

“Anne has promised a completely original set with new jokes and more crazy stories and together with her princess in comedy Cotilda Inapo, they will dance, they will sing and most importantly they will make Harare laugh once again.

“Advance tickets will be selling from Reflections gift shops branches namely at Avondale shops (in Salmor Gallery near Econet shop), Sam Levy’s village (near Electrical sales) and ZB Life Towers in the city centre (Corner Sam Nujoma Street/Jason Moyo) where you can swipe, pay cash or transfer via Ecocash.”

Another local comedian Q-The Boss and Probeatz will also be part of the show that Kansiime described in a YouTube video as ‘special event for Harare’.

Kansiime has toured many parts of the country and her skits on social media have millions of followers.
