KAROI Town Council is working towards improving its residents’ access to health care and clean water using both internally generated and devolution funds in line with Vision 2030.

This was recently revealed by the council’s acting secretary, Mr Tongai Namisala.

Some of the ongoing projects include Chiedza Clinic, which is currently at window level.

The council also acquired a brand-new refuse compactor that started servicing residential areas last Friday.

The town, which has at least 21 tobacco floors, has also seen an increase in the number of people coming to sell their golden leaf.

This has resulted in some sleeping in the open, thereby posing a health risk.

Mr Namisala said the council has proposed that all public toilets be free to accommodate the high volumes of people.

The council, he said, is also going to construct a clinic in Claudia residential area .
